Video Chat Camera or Microphone Not Working? Troubleshooting Guide

If your browser does not ask for camera or microphone access, or CooMeet cannot detect your device, follow these steps.

Updated: November 6, 2026VidMeetly18+

1. Check browser permissions

Open the browser site settings for VidMeetly and check whether Camera and Microphone are set to Allow or Ask. If either is blocked, change the permission and reload the page.

2. Check Android settings

Open Android Settings, find your browser in Apps, then review Permissions. Allow Camera and Microphone if you intend to use video chat. Menu names can differ by Android version and device manufacturer.

3. Check your computer

On Windows, open Settings → Privacy & security → Camera and Microphone. Make sure device access and access for desktop apps are enabled where appropriate. In your browser, select the correct camera and microphone.

4. Close apps that may be using the devices

Video meeting apps, camera utilities, and other browser tabs can occupy the camera or microphone. Close them and try again.

5. If no permission prompt appears

Check that the page uses HTTPS, reset the site permission if it was previously blocked, then reload. Browser extensions or privacy tools may also block third-party scripts. If the CooMeet module still does not load, use the direct link provided on the VidMeetly page.

Privacy reminder

Grant camera and microphone access only when you want to use video or voice. VidMeetly does not receive camera or microphone streams; the embedded module is provided by CooMeet.
